Content Management Systems

The Content Management Systems are how the end users create, edit, and produce the content that makes its way to the audience experience. Today, Vox Media uses at least four of these; Anthem, Clay, Pinnacle, and Wordpress. In theory it’s possible to unify all of these under a single CMS that maintains all the capabillities of each of them, but in practice the development of such a system would incredibly Risky and Expensive. Any addition to the Vox Media properties would likely disrupt the single CMS by introducing one more solutions used by the new property.

The end-state goal for each CMS is to be able to reference any shared Entity across the entire system. This mens that an single Author, Product or Image can be referenced and included in any of the available CMSs.
